On Sunday the 29th April 2018 we had our annual Family Fun Day. It was a break from the tradition of holding it in June on the school grounds. We would like to thank Liz and Canice Farrell and their family for hosting our day at the picturesque location of Knockatrina Stud.
Our Family Fun Day coincided with the annual blooming of the Bluebells in adjacent Knockatrina Wood, part of Leafy Loop walk in Durrow, Laois. See trail map for Leafy Loop
Our day started with a wonderful service in St Michael’s and All Angels Church in Abbeyleix. The families then all met up at Knockatrina Stud where the Farrell family had organised parking and picnic facilities. After the adventure of the walk in the woods it was time for a picnic and the start of our games.
We had running races, egg and spoon races and sack races with little prizes for participants.
Even our fantastic parents got involved!!
Thanks to our Parents Association for funding and organising a fantastic day out with a special mention to the Chairperson Hannah Black for all her time and efforts to ensure a safe and happy day.
